bliss

This painting was inspired by conversations I’ve had with people from all over the world - talking about what’s going on in our countries, sharing stories, and sometimes realising that what I thought I knew... wasn’t quite right. That’s when the quote “ignorance is bliss” really hit me, and the idea for this piece started to form.

It made me think about how we often build our opinions based on the information we’re exposed to - usually through the media—and once those ideas settle in, they feel solid. We end up choosing the pieces that fit our version of the world, the version that feels comfortable, and that makes it easier to move forward without questioning too much.

The thing is, we’re not here forever - there’s just not enough time to learn everything or uncover every truth. But the important thing is to recognise what we don’t know. Because the moment we admit our own ignorance, we create space for understanding, and we stop judging what we don’t fully grasp.

In the end, we’re all on both sides of this painting - trying to make sense of the world in our own way.
