Hands are one of my favorite symbols - maybe because, like colors and shapes, they can speak without saying a word. In this piece, a woman’s hands are tied by feelings for someone she loves. The pain is deep, but she still believes it’s love, not yet aware of the brighter, more genuine feelings waiting just around the corner.
Even when I explore heavier or emotional themes, I choose to use bright, hopeful colors. I truly believe that every experience, no matter how painful, can lead to something beautiful. Even in the darkest moments, life has a way of offering a spark of hope - and in this painting, that tiny spark is symbolized by the ladybug.
